Entry- 8:18 a.m.

I officially have way too many characters. The line is beginning to blur between the three levels of primary, secondary, and NPC. And again, I have characters active in more than one story at one time. How the frak do I keep getting in to this chaos?

I know one thing for certain- I will be happy when 'Mecha Rising' is finished. There are less than 4,000 words and it will break 60,000 words. We'll be tying up some loose ends shortly; it shouldn't be too much longer.

In other news, the new forum is up, finished, and ready for registrations. In order to give members the time to complete current stories and retain what they want, the old forum will remain active until July 1.

Spring Cleaning Time

Hey Gang,

This is just a note to let everyone know that it's time for spring cleaning. No, I'm not talking about getting out the dusters and cleaning rags. I'm talking about the RPG Arena forums. The database is heavy with old material. Please be sure to clean out your PM boxes. If there is any content on the forums you want to keep now is the time to save it.

By July 1, 2009 I would like us to be completely moved over to the new forum installation. I understand how frustrating it is- believe me I know- however, I no longer have the tolerance for the spammers and bots that keep hitting us. To resolve the issue, I have installed a copy of version 3.0.4 with a slightly new URL. This version of the program will help to practically eliminate the problem of spam and bots.

July 1 should give everyone plenty of time to save the stuff they want to keep. It should also be plenty of time to complete some, but not all of the currently active stories.

Geremy's back!!! And things are getting interesting. There are only 5,000 to 6,000 words to go before 'Mecha Rising' is completed. Plans are finally unfolding for the upcoming story on the wedding of Vortex and Blaze. Onward and upward I say, just don't ask about the hanging chads err stories.

Unfortunately as no nominations were made, we do not have an honoree of the year. Instead, let's spotlight the people who continue to remain devoted writers: Archivist, Kitazfrenzy, Hollow, and Iron Sun. Though there have been others involved, these 4 writers have been constant. They have amassed a total of over 450,000 words in the last 3 years. Now that's something to celebrate!

We're on the roll again- due mostly to NaNoWriMo and the holidays most of us took the time off. Now we're back. A major decision was made to remove the story "Rivals" and revert back to the original intention of the arc- highlighting on a rivalry between the East Coast campus and another Consortium house.

There is also a new addition to the Arenas- I've mentioned it before. Earth Prime deals with maintaining the balance between dimensions. we're going to see how it works out.

Mecha Rising is on the verge of closing out- but keep your eyes on this one. Some crucial information is being given that entails the main arc of Psionics Millennium.

We are taking a break from the leaches to focus more on Psionics vs. Psionics and group vs. group. Don't be surprised to find more cross visits between the Psionics areas- I'm referring to the humans- not the Autobots

As for the rest of the Arenas- Beginnings is on hold, Atlantis has a new story coming soon, and I'm still working on Metal Wars. Chapter 2 is up but there's some revisions I need to make on chapter 1- and then 2. Chapter 3 is waiting in the wings and is no where close to being posted.

Mark 24 ~ Update

Entry- 2:40 p.m.

'Mecha Rising' has moved up to slot 3 with 46,031 words. There are still a few more scenes to write before the end of this story. Whether we breach 60,000 words or not it's been one heck of a ride. We do have an inkling of an idea where things will go for some of the characters and who will be seeing the end of the ride. I'm not going to say who'll be surviving the end of this one and who won't I think that's pretty academic.

We will strive to obtain that now coveted 60,000 words marker. If we don't make it, we don't make it. At this point, the 50,000 word marker is definitely within reach. I can see us making this one.

Entry- 1:13 a.m.

There may not have been any story postings today but there were still happenings on the site. The admins spoke and all are in agreement for the new Arena. I can't tell you how this makes me feel. Relax gang I won't be doing any jumps or cartwheels. You might catch me in the back office working on polishing my MIB dance moves. Yes, I'm that thrilled about this expansion.

It will be the 4^th Arena on the forums. I'm calling it Earth Prime. While there will be a main story to this venue, it will be home to our cross-venue stories. This is stemming from the plans for the CP venue Arena Metal Wars- please refer to my last post about this.

Anyway- Earth Prime will evolve around a core group of characters called Protectorates. These people are responsible for monitoring, protecting, and preserving all dimensional activity. In short- they make certain that people are in the dimension they're supposed to be in- and put them back when they're not. At least, they try to put them back. Sometimes it doesn't always work.

Earth Prime is the name of the base dimension. Much like in Stargate, they will always jump off and return to this point. Unlike Stargate- there's no devise to control passage through 'The Rift'. And that is the space which exists between the dimensions. A nod goes towards The History Channel and their show 'The Universe' for this information.

We will be launching this new Arena venue once the current Psionic stories are completed.

Last night I finished Chapter 2 of the first Captain Power story. 'Her Journey' is about the life story of Corp. Jennifer 'Pilot' Chase. It begins with the night she realized the truth about the Dread Youth and becomes a deserter. Chapter 2 shows her beginning to break down her conditioning and the first encounter with John Power's team.

Chapter 3 is already in the works. It entails Chase returning to the scene of the crime. Seeing the results of what she and the Dread Youth had done to Sandtown will set her emotions out of control. Finding the body of the old woman who had begged to her will only make things worse. Eventually she will pull through, gain training from the UTO, and ultimately join the Power Team. Right now though, it's only the beginning of her rage.

There are 2 other CP stories in the works. One of them jumps forward to where the TV series had left off. The difference is in the ending- that is- where the show had ended.

I'm one of those fans who neither like nor accept the death of Pilot. However, as a fan of Jessica Steen (the actress who portrayed the character) I admire her for sticking to her guns about the situation. I'm open-minded about the condition of her character being killed off. I don't like it or accept it but it WAS her choice and I can deal with that. It may seem contradictory- look at it this way- it's the difference between fact and fiction.

Fact: Jessica has stated that she felt bamboozled into the role. So she made her condition clear. I am certain that if not for the toy line tie in- and the behind the scenes politics- things would have been different.

Fiction: This is in reference to the story itself. As a fiction writer I am hooked on the question of 'what if?' So I ask myself- 'what if Pilot had survived the explosion.' I would like to see Jennifer and John together and things snowball from there.

So, to Jessica and Co. please excuse me wile I settle my 'what if' thoughts on Pilot surviving the explosion. I'm not the first and certainly not the last who'll write an alternate arc. It's a piece of fan-fiction. And just as it's possible for parallel universes- somewhere, in some alternate universe- she did survive.

The 3^rd story in the works is a cross-venue with Psionics. It will be an interesting take on the 'what if Hawk found his daughter alive?' This is going to be a permanent jump for two characters. Medic and Tech will move from 'Psionics' and in to 'Metal Wars'.

People will have to read the story to find out what happens and how. Trust me- it won't be cheesy and will help to justify a lot of the story arcs throughout the organization.

All I will say is that it entails a 'rift' in the space time continuum. Despite this dimensional fissure it will not be easy to cross through. Now 'that' would be cheesy. It does stand to reason that certain characters- meaning the Eternals- would be able to cross over but not for the average Joe. It will be a lot harder. Now, for people with teleportation abilities like Vortex- it could happen by total random accident. And that's all I'm saying.

Like I said earlier, people will have to read the stories to find out what happens.
